BBC Blast
June 29, 2010 by: RyanSo I have been so ridiculously busy lately that I have not had any time to write. But now I have a few moments free to type up whats been occuring!
So BBC Blast were at Bury on wed, thus and fri last week and it was really good 3 days. The setup was really impressive with a big van of workshop space, the discovery truck and a big outside marque.
Wednesday the weather was great and there were a lot of great things going on. Film making, radio, fashion and graffiti. My job as a wex with the other guys was to register everyone and organise all the people attending the workshops. We also had to flick between workshops to make sure everything was running well. In the afternoon I went along to a workshops and we made an interview that was going to go out on Radio Suffolk the next day!
Thursday I went out in the morning to accompany the film group who were out on location. Then back to the front desk in the afternoon. I also was a camera man for the Q&A session, this was hard work as the camera gets heavy to hold still after a while!
Friday was the final day and I was the compare for the showcase! It was a really nice end to the event and the showcase went well with 3 really good live acts. After saying goodbye to the crew and seeing them pack up for the next leg of the tour al us WEX guys went out for a drink.
The Blast work experience was really enjoyable. Hard work but rewarding, i got to meet a load of new people and have an insight into some new creative areas.
Im going to try and get some photos from them
