Just got back from seeing ‘Alice’ in 3D. After all the hype and massive exposure that it has had it has been built up to be a great film. I was very excited to go and see it as I have been analyzing the promotion for media studies.
Initial reviews didnt really rate and neither do I.
The opening part of the film (pre falling in a hole) was painfully bad as in plot and acting. It was set in victorian times and Alices boy friend proposes to her and this is just awful because your thinking boring storyline. How does she end up in the forest? Well after being proposed to she runs after a rabbit! What WHY no one would ever just chase a rabbit down a hole!
The plot was very thin as they kept referencing that she doesnt remember coming here before and the characters say you dont look like THE alice, I wanted to say I GET IT ! Its a sequel to the original she has grown up from the original disney animation. DONT KEEP GOING ON ABOUT IT. The plot was just a bit thin and slow (and predictable.)
Johnny Depp… not good. Most of the film I felt the mad hatter was just Jack Sparrow dressed up as the hatter, I kept exepcting him to jump on a boat and sail off on another adventure.
And Mia Wasikowska will never be in another hollywood film again as she is the worst and most wooden actress ever.
3D was wasted on the film too.
I feel iv’e been rather negative it has its good parts but only 2.5 stars out of 5 average film. SSorry Tim
