I had every intention to log through the night last night commentating on the election, however I got so in-grossed I forgot.
I have been very interested in the politics since the announcement of the election. I have been torn between Tories and Lib Dem.
Yesterday myself and a group of 1st time voters went down to our polling station. All very exciting.
I then insisted on myself to stay up and see in the results. This on reflection now wasnt the cleverest idea! I watched the BBC 1 coverage (which can I say wa brilliant. I thought I didnt like Dimbleby but he was very good. Nick Robinson is amazing! AND the highlights was the green screen studio and the giant iPad!)
At 2 I went to bed to watch it in bed and made it until just gone 3. I saw as much as the results coming in as they began to flood in. I was hoping to see the South Suffolk result flash on the screen but I didnt make it that far. I woke up at 6:30 to see Clegg get his seat before checking my local vote (which turns out I must have just dropped off before it was announced!) Unfortunately it was not the result I wanted to see for my area. Although on the plus turnout was up.
So we are technically in a hung parliament (even though we are still waiting for a few more results.) It seems unfortunately that due to the Hung Parliament the country will face uncertainty for the next few days.
Personally this results shows that Tories got the most votes therfore they should run the country. Simple.
Final thing, the voting system needs to change if hundreds of people were left unable to vote due to many issues at polling stations around the country.
Have a great day.
